I'm working with teams as a (Fractional) Product Engineering Lead, and with Individuals as a Coach/Mentor.
Working with Engineering Teams
I help scale-ups in EU with complex problems at the intersection of Engineering and Product. Things I can help with:
Navigating complex projects full of risks and unknowns, focusing on incremental delivery, clarity, and rapid early-risk detection.
Moving into product-engineering mindset, transitioning from efforts and tickets into business outcomes.
Taking a step back to understand the fundamental problem. I work best when with problems where we need to go beyond the surface and where you need to challenge conventional approaches.
Finding alignment and clarity in difficult situtations and projects
Finding coordination bottlenecks across teams and across team members
Marcel has an instinct for slowing teams down when it matters. He brings stakeholders together to clarify requirements early and insists on clear system and architectural thinking before jumping into code.

Working with Individuals (New)
I’m starting a coaching practice to help individuals:
navigate difficult conversations with colleagues and managers
finding win-win ways that is meaningful and beneficial both to the organisation and to the individual.
navigating promotions, negotiations, and internal politics
preventing overload, loss of agency, and apathy
Conversations with Marcel had a huge influence on how I now think about my work. As a person who loves coding, it is easy for me to get caught up in the fun of writing neat code. Marcel really opened my eyes to the world outside of that bubble: the customers who are impacted by engineering decisions, the metrics that we are trying to impact, and how to spend engineering time wisely to maximize real-world impact. I feel super lucky to have worked with Marcel.
